There have been a lot of attempts to knock the .com domain extension from the number one spot in terms of registration numbers but no domain extension it seems like will ever be as popular as the .com. This view is supported by these latest stats below.

I believe that this trend will continue. New TLD’s will not make a difference the .com extension will always be the most popular.
